Montiel Records, was founded in London, by Hilda Montiel aka singer/songwriter and LGBT activist, Sofia B, with the aim of creating a trustworthy and loyal safe space to represent international artists, seeking to work in the UK.

Montiel received a disciplined and solid education in music; attending The Sylvia Young Theatre School for Voice in London, studied classical Violin from the age of 5 and attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship, graduating with honours in 2013. After graduating, she moved to New York to gain first hand experience of the music industry in one of the world's leading music capitals before returning to her hometown.

With a co-ed, boutique-sized roster of artists from Greece to Pennsylvania to Brazil, the label is focused on creating a clean cut, socially just and inspiring brand for a global community of artists.
